BIS #7504 Third Annual Day at Don Bosco English Medium School, Chhotaudepur

Don Bosco English Medium held their third Annual Day on February 15, 2025. The theme for the annual day was “Connecting Cultures Bringing Hope”.

The chief guest for the annual day was Mr. Madhubhai Rathwa, a forest officer who is also a past pupil of the boarding and the school. The esteemed chief guest and other distinguished guest lit the lamp which symbolizes dispelling of darkness. This was followed by prayer dance performed by the girls from STD 4th and 5th.

The principal of the school Fr. Selvin D’Mello welcomed the gathering; in his speech he explained the theme of the third annual day. The world today is divided by caste, culture and religion; the young people must become the beacon of hope in this world. Fr. D’Mello then felicited the chief guest, the management and the PTA members and thanked them for their constant support and involvement in the school. The beautiful backdrop was prepared by the teachers depicting the various cultures of our country and Warli painting was placed in the centre which symbolizes the unity. 

In his speech Mr. Rathwa the chief guest for the annual day shared his experience in studying in Don Bosco institution and encouraged the students and parents to remain always with Don Bosco. He furthered enlightened on the theme of the annual day and explained to children how culture plays an important role in life. Students from different classes displayed the various cultures of our country. Their dances gave the audience the glimpses of each culture and gave the sense of pride that each culture is so unique yet we are one as the citizen of this country.

Fr. George Carlos the manager of the school delivered a message for the gathering. Fr. Carlos shed the light upon the fifty years of Salesian mission in Gujrat. He furthered said that the Salesins have done commendable work in this region. It was the dream of many of our past pupil to have an English medium school and two years back that dream has been fulfilled. Fr. D’Mello proposed the vote of thanks he thanked the management for their support and guidance. He also appreciated the hardwork and efforts put in by teachers to make the annual day a successful one.
