BIS #6682 Investiture Ceremony at DB Nashik

The students-leaders of Don Bosco School, Nashik, were installed for the Academic Year 2022-23 on 6 July 2022.

The feast day of St Dominic Savio, which falls on 6 May is usually celebrated on 6 July in the institutions of the Province of Bombay, as this is a convenient date to celebrate this teenage saint with the students due to the Academic Year. Therefore, the investiture ceremony commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of St Dominic Savio by the Rector, Fr Royal D'Abreo. A short prayer service was held.

The newly appointed captains of the secondary section were given the school flags, the respective house flags along with the badges by Fr D'Abreo. He also administered the oath to the designated members which implored them to perform their duties whole-heartedly and do their best towards the progress of the school in conduct, studies and games. The school cabinet of the primary section was invested by Fr Roshan, and the elected leaders pledged to uphold the motto of 'Loyalty, Honesty and Integrity. Then the class teachers of Classes 1 to 10 invested the monitors and Fr Cedrick Sankul, the Principal, administered the oath of the Class leaders.

Fr D'Abreo addressed the students on the occasion, and advised the Students’ Council members to maintain discipline and decorum, and uphold the values lived by St Dominic Savio. Fr Sankul proposed a vote of thanks, and wished that the newly elected leaders would work not just for the betterment of their fellow students, but for their personal growth as well.

The event concluded with the singing of the National anthem.
