BIS #7506 Community Day Celebration at Divyadaan

by Cl Hamlin Britto and Cl Hanley Gomes for BIS Mumbai

The Divyadaan Institute organized the Community Day on 19 February 2025. The community began with the triduum from February 16 to 18, focusing on different themes. The title for the community day was ‘Bearers of Hope’ taken from the Strenna 2025.

The event commenced with a morning prayer led by the MPh brothers, where each group shared the positive qualities of their peers, adding a special touch to the celebration. Following breakfast, participants engaged in group games that fostered a sense of togetherness. In the evening, attendees gathered in the chapel for personal prayer, culminating in a solemn Eucharistic Celebration

Fr Robert Pen, the Rector, who presided over the Eucharist, began by sharing his sense of gratitude to all the staff members individually and for all the brothers. In the homily, Fr Robert shared some insights on hope and how are we to lead the young, giving them the assurance of a hopeful future based on the Strenna. Fr Tony’s presence during the mass served as a great model for both the staff members and clerics practicing community life. After the Mass, the community came together for a family gathering, where they expressed gratitude through various creative programs, including an online quiz about the community and a dance performed by staff that showcased their Salesian spirit.

The Community Day 2025 is set to become a cherished memory for all participants, who expressed their heartfelt thanks to Don Bosco, the founder, for fostering a culture of celebration. The day's significance was amplified by the contributions and sacrifices of the staff members, whose efforts ensured it was a memorable occasion.
