BIS #6172 DBDS Chinchwad-AXA Project's COVID-19 awareness session for women

The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Chinchwad, organized an awareness session ‘Novel Coronavirus and Precautions’ on 04 September 2020, for 19 women residing in the Indira Nagar slum in Chinchwad (Pune). This awareness session was held under the aegis of ‘COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency Relief Work’ supported by AXA business services. DBDS-Chinchwad coordinator Akshada Naik and DBDS-Chinchwad staff Sarika Kadam were the resource persons.

In her session, Kadam covered basic information on ‘corona virus’ such as:

  • Difference between COVID-19, common cold, FLU, Allergies.

  • SARS and COVID-19 and how it spreads.

  • City, State and National situation

  • Clinical features like incubation period, recovery time, signs and symptoms.

  • IgM/IgG test

  • Preventive measures

  • Government guidelines

  • Stigma prevention and positive attitude

Naik then spoke about the ‘Arogya Setu App’. The session was interactive and the women from slums benefited a lot. DBS-Chinchwad staff Rajshree Deshkhaire coordinated the logistical arrangements.
