By Cl. Pranit Konkya for BISMumbai

Don Bosco, Kawant, organised summer camps for boys and girls from 5 to 30 April 2024. Around 140 students gathered for a month of fun-filled activities and learning opportunities.

The camps commenced with a warm welcome by Fr Mayank Parmar, the Rector, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. The most important camp was the spoken English course organised for students of Grade 10 and above. It was a unique experience for the youth, helping them learn English in the most fun and interactive way with a lot of exciting activities, engaging English sessions, and a wide range of games. The students benefited greatly from this programme, as it helped them enhance their language skills and boost their confidence. At the end of the camp, the students were given certificates.

“The creative way of learning English has helped me to speak with confidence and this camp will prove a success as I continue to learn and speak English,” said Nisarg Rathwa, a participant.

The Gujarati Medium selection camp for the students of Grade 6 took place from 13 to 16 April while the English Medium selection camp was held from 16 to 29 April. It was an amazing experience for the students as they got to stay together and make new friends. The camp was packed with fun-filled activities and creative sessions. Students were divided into teams to foster companionship among the participants laying the foundation for the camp: of teamwork, friendship, and healthy competition.

The summer camps offered a diverse range of activities, including animated games, Zumba sessions, and various competitions. These activities kept the students entertained and engaged, providing them with ample opportunities to showcase their talents and skills. Additionally, the camps featured educational sessions focused on English and mathematics, giving students a chance to sharpen their academic skills while having fun.

The success of the camps was largely due to the dedication and support of the school teachers, who played a pivotal role in creating a positive learning environment and ensuring that students received the guidance they needed.
