DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant, in Chhota Udepur District, Gujarat, witnessed a significant milestone with the certification ceremony of the 2nd and 3rd BRIDGE (BOSCH’s Response to India’s Development and Growth through Employability and Enhancement) Course batches, comprising 67 students, alongside the inauguration of the 4th batch of 28 students. The event was held with the collaborative support of the Rotary Club of Vadodara, Muni Seva Ashram, Ghoraj, and BOSCH India.
The program commenced with a reflective video prayer and the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge and hope. Dignitaries present included Mr Chandresh Makhija and Mr Manish Shah from the Rotary Club of Vadodara, Mr Rajesh and Mr Rohit representing Muni Seva Ashram, and Sr Regina Chauhan from Nikol Bhavan, Kawant. The guests were warmly welcomed with floral bouquets.
Fr Mayank Parmar sdb, Rector of Don Bosco Kawant, addressed the gathering, highlighting the vision and ongoing initiatives of Don Bosco in promoting the development and empowerment of tribal youth through skill-based education. He underlined the significance of the Bridge Course in offering a strong foundation to the underprivileged young people of the region.
Student representatives Ms Roshni Rathwa and Ms Dayaben Rathwa shared their heartfelt testimonies. They expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the course’s approachability and the dedication of the teaching staff. Ms Dayaben aptly described the program as a “first stepping stone” in their journey of self-development.
Mr Makhija, in his address, inspired the students to continue their learning journey and make their lives meaningful by enrolling in skill development programs at Muni Seva Ashram. Mr Rajesh elaborated on the variety of short-term and long-term vocational courses available at the Ashram.
In a generous gesture, Mr Makhija offered a 25% discount on course fees for any admissions taken on the same day at Muni Seva Ashram, resulting in 18 immediate enrolments in various courses—a testament to the students’ aspirations and drive for vocational trainings.
Following the certificate distribution ceremony, the 4th batch of Bridge Course students was officially welcomed by Program Officer Mr Hasmukh Christian, who also extended a vote of thanks to all contributors and participants.
The celebration concluded with a time of fellowship over refreshments and snacks, marking a joyful and memorable occasion for the students and staff of Don Bosco Kawant.
