“A drop of blood can be an ocean of hope in someone’s life.” With this deep and moving thought, Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik, in collaboration with Arpan Blood Bank, organized a Blood Donation Camp on August 2, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.
The event began with a warm and respectful welcome to the esteemed medical professionals and staff from Arpan Blood Bank, whose presence was vital to the success of this life-saving initiative. The school community extended heartfelt gratitude to them for their dedicated service and medical expertise. The camp was graciously inaugurated by Fr Royal D’Abreo, the Rector, in the presence of Fr Rixson Nigrel, the Principal, and other members of the school management. Their kind and noble gesture in initiating and supporting such a human cause brought a sense of purpose and inspiration to the occasion. Adding further strength to the initiative was the active involvement of the Past Pupils Association, whose support in organising and mobilising resources significantly contributed to the smooth execution of the event.
The Scout and Guide in-charge teachers—Sir Santosh, Sir Satish, Tr Anagha, and Tr Laxmi—played a crucial coordinating role, working tirelessly along with the Scout Guides, Cubs, and Bulbuls. These students took on various responsibilities—from welcoming guests and managing donor registrations, to maintaining queues, providing post-donation care, and ensuring the camp ran efficiently. With placards in hand, the Scouts moved around the campus, politely encouraging one and all to donate blood, reminding everyone of the value of this selfless act.
A trained medical team from Arpan Blood Bank set up professional blood donation stations inside the school auditorium. Each donor underwent a thorough health checkup, including haemoglobin and blood pressure screenings, ensuring a safe and hygienic donation experience.
In his address, Principal Fr Nigrel appreciated the team of medical experts from Arpan Blood Bank for their professionalism and compassionate service. He also emphasised the importance of blood donation as a selfless and life-giving act and lauded the school community for participating wholeheartedly in this noble mission.
All donors were honoured with certificates of appreciation and refreshments as a small token of gratitude. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, unity, and a deep sense of purpose. This initiative not only helped save lives, but also instilled in the students a spirit of compassion, teamwork, and social responsibility. This event was not just a medical camp—it was a celebration of humanity, unity, and hope. Indeed, a drop of blood donated today may become a river of life for someone tomorrow.
