BIS #7233 Parents Day Celebration at St John Bosco Church Borivali

Parents Day was celebrated at St John Bosco Church on July 28, 2024 in the school hall. The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees, including parents, catechists, children, priests, and sisters from the community and neighbouring areas. The celebration set the tone emphasizing the theme "Family: Guiding Light and Forever Bright."
The day began with children welcoming their parents to the hall. This thoughtful gesture set a positive and welcoming tone for the celebration. The program officially began with a solemn and symbolic lighting of the lamp by the priests and nuns signifying the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of wisdom and knowledge. This act was followed by a captivating prayer dance performed by the talented students of the 3rd and 4th grades.
The younger children showed their respect and admiration by felicitating the priests with beautifully crafted cards and vibrant bouquets. This heartfelt gesture set the stage for an inspiring speech by Fr Manuel, who eloquently spoke about the power of love and the enduring values of family. His words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression.
The celebration continued with a series of delightful performances from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, with a lively dance that radiated joy and innocence. Following this, the 4th graders dedicated a touching song to their grandparents, whose nurturing presence and timeless wisdom are cherished by all.
The reflective address by the 9th and 10th graders highlighted the unconditional love, support, and guidance that parents provide every day. Adding to the emotional depth of the event, the 5th. 6th, 7th and 8th graders performed a skit that conveyed powerful messages through their expressive actions.
The energy in the hall reached a peak with a dynamic dance performance by the students of the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Their synchronized movements and passionate display left the audience in awe and brought a sense of unity and celebration to the event.
Capping off the day, the children’s choir delivered heartfelt renditions of "I Can Count on You" and ABBA's "Slipping Through My Fingers," resonating deeply with the audience. Their harmonious voices evoked memories of childhood and the enduring bonds of family, leaving many with tears of joy and reflection.
