On Saturday, July 12, 2025, Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kurla, Mumbai, held its annual Thanksgiving Ceremony to honour and express gratitude for the blessings, achievements, and shared memories of the past academic year. The event, conducted on campus with great enthusiasm and reverence, brought together trainees, faculty, staff, and management. Organized through a combination of spiritual reflection, heartfelt addresses, music, and symbolic traditions, the ceremony served as a meaningful conclusion to the year and a celebration of the community spirit that defines Don Bosco ITI.
The festivities began the previous day with a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Fr Nelson Carvalho, whose homily set a reflective and appreciative tone. He connected the day’s scripture readings to the importance of gratitude, reminding the congregation to acknowledge God’s blessings.
Saturday’s main program commenced with a warm welcome and an uplifting prayer service, followed by the soulful rendition of “Thank You Lord” by the trainees, capturing the spirit of the occasion. Master Anil Sote, Trainee Representative, opened the address segment with a moving speech of appreciation on behalf of his peers. Fr Anthony Pinto, Rector and Director of Don Bosco Centre for Learning, then shared a powerful message about values and leadership, calling on the graduating students to carry the institute’s spirit into the wider world. Representatives of the trainees shared reflections from their foundational journey and described their growth and learning over two transformative years.
A symbolic handover of the house system marked a pivotal moment in the ceremony, emphasizing continuity in student leadership. Mrs Sakshi, who is one of the instructors, offered motivational words, encouraging trainees to embrace the future with confidence and resilience. A touching memory video followed, offering a nostalgic look back at the year’s highlights.
The Principal – Mr Amarr Prabhu – concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, sharing a message of gratitude and unity. The celebration ended with the singing of the Institute Anthem.
