On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kurla, Mumbai, hosted the Valedictory Ceremony for the Godrej Electronic Lock Technician Program — a collaborative initiative with Godrej Enterprises Group aimed at equipping trainees with specialized skills in electronic security systems. The event celebrated the completion of a 15-day training course designed for second-year trainees from Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, and Technician Mechatronics trades. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical application, this program empowered 81 students with hands-on experience in carpentry, lock installation, and digital fault diagnostics, preparing them for promising career opportunities in a rapidly advancing industry. This programme that equips trainees to be entrepreneurs is the only one in the country.
The ceremony began with a formal welcome address by Mr Rajan Patil, who emphasized the institute’s commitment to meaningful industry partnerships. Mr Shailesh Yadav of Godrej captivated the audience with an insightful address, highlighting the vast potential within the electronic lock sector. Trainees then shared personal reflections, offering heartfelt accounts of their journey and growth during the program—moments that deeply resonated with attendees. Mr Somesh Khinchi presented an overview of Godrej’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, reinforcing the company’s dedication to skill development and community upliftment. The principal – Mr Amarr Prabhu – commended the strong partnership with Godrej, expressing optimism for future collaborative programs.
The Certificate Distribution Ceremony followed, with dignitaries proudly awarding completion certificates to the successful trainees. The top three trainees from each trade received a Stanley SDH600KP-IN DIY 13 MM Hammer Drill from Mr Khinchi, Mr Yadav, and Mr Prabhu, marking a practical and meaningful reward for their excellence.
