Virar, July 13, 2025: The Resurrection Youth Movement (RYM) of Resurrection Church, Virar, organised a vibrant community event called Monsoon Madness on July 13, 2025. Fostering a sense of Togetherness and support through gatherings and fellowship, helping people overcome feelings of isolation or sadness that might accompany the gloomy weather, around 200 parishioners actively participated in this fun-filled event. “The rain paints the world in a hue of mystique, turning reality into a dreamer’s paradise.”

The purpose of ‘Monsoon Madness’ was to build bonds of fraternity in the community, and to bring everyone together as one family. The preparations for Monsoon Madness began in the month of June itself. Fr Francis Fernandes, along with the entire youth of our Parish worked tirelessly to make this event a fruitful and a successful one.

The event started off at 10.30 am with Rector Fr. Thomas D'Costa addressing a gathering, inviting everyone to enjoy togetherness as a family, and also thanking everyone for the overwhelming response.

A highlight of the programme was a flash mob performed by the parish youth, escalating the excitement even further with the arrival of rain. The enthusiasm continued with a community-wise group mascot parade featuring characters inspired by popular Bollywood and television shows.

Outdoor group games followed, with water-themed activities drawing cheerful participation from all age groups, despite the occasional sunshine.

The event concluded at 12:30 p.m. with a prize distribution ceremony. Winners were recognised for their participation in games and activities. More importantly, the event succeeded in bringing parishioners together, helping them forge new friendships and deepen a shared sense of belonging.

The Resurrection Youth Movement's core team was commended for their coordination and commitment. Their efforts contributed to a day that reflected Christian fellowship and unity, leaving participants with cherished memories and a renewed spirit of community.
