BIS #6298 Don Bosco Chhotaudepur celebrates 'women'

Don Bosco Chhotaudepur organised twin celebrations for Women’s Day, at the School level for the school community and the other, at the Lok Seva Kendra level for the various women of the Self Help Groups on International Women's Day. A total of 840 participants celebrated 'the power and relevance of women'.

At Don Bosco School, a felicitation programme for the lady staff was organized. The highlights of programme were the solemn felicitation of each female staff, followed by an address and some inspirational words by Principal, Shri Ishwar Rathwa. The compere, with generous amount of Sanskrit shloks, shayaris and short poems added value to the programme. Women from the Lok Seva Kendra Mahila Mandals in various villages soon arrived and then the women danced to the tune of timli dhol entering the hall for the programme.

Rutuben Chotaliya, Police Inspector; Madhu Rathwa, Vice President of the Gujarat Primary Education; Radhikaben, a Social Worker; Nehaben, Taluka Health Officer; Mayaben from the Education Department and Sister Carolina, Superior of Aradhana Sadan, were the dignitaries present. Rector-Father Brian Boothello, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the teaching role a woman plays in the family, as a role model for her children.

The programme consisted of dances of different genres, short speeches on women empowerment, group dancing to the beats of the 'timli dhol' and lunch.
