BIS #7552 Annual Day 2025: Celebrating 60 Years of Skill and Spirit

April 6th, 2025, marked a momentous occasion for Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kurla, as it joyously celebrated its 60th Annual Day, a Diamond Jubilee signifying six decades of dedicated service to technical education and holistic youth development. The event was a vibrant tapestry of reflection, gratitude, and youthful energy, honouring the institute's enduring legacy.
The celebration commenced with a reverent welcome, paying tribute to St. John Bosco's vision. Rector-Director Fr Tony Pinto, in his inspiring address, highlighted the transformative journey of Don Bosco ITI, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of benefactors and staff in shaping generations of skilled professionals. The Diamond Jubilee was officially inaugurated with the lighting of a commemorative diamond shaped lamp and the unveiling of a plaque by the Salesian community and esteemed guests Ms Harpreet Kaur and Mr Amarr Prabhu.
A particularly significant moment of the celebration was the unveiling of the commemorative Coffee Table Book, aptly titled "Sixty Years of Skill, Soul, and Spark." This beautifully curated volume, chronicling the institute’s enduring legacy, key milestones, and impactful contributions, was jointly unveiled by Fr Tony Pinto, Fr Colbert DaSilva, Fr Mario Vaz, Mr Vinod Noronha (IMC Head) and Mr Amarr Prabhu. Commemorative mementos, symbolizing gratitude and appreciation, were then presented to the esteemed dignitaries. This included a special gesture from Mr Amarr Prabhu to Fr Tony, who in turn felicitated the other distinguished guests present.
Mr Amarr Prabhu then presented the comprehensive Annual Report for the academic year 2023–2024, offering a detailed overview of the institute's activities and achievements. Beyond academic progress, the report highlighted Don Bosco ITI's commitment to the holistic well-being and future prospects of its trainees. The report proudly presented the data on student outcomes, showcasing a commendable number of students successfully passing out from various trades. The placement data for the graduating batch demonstrated the industry relevance of the training provided, with a significant percentage of students securing placements in reputed companies across diverse sectors. This comprehensive report underscored Don Bosco ITI’s unwavering commitment to providing holistic education that is not only skill-based and value-driven but also actively supports the health, career readiness, and successful transition of its students into the professional world.
The audience was treated to a vibrant cultural showcase, featuring energetic dances, musical performances, and a light-hearted skit, demonstrating the creativity and enthusiasm of the trainees.
Chief Guest Ms Harpreet Kaur delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of humility, continuous learning, and the pride of being part of the Don Bosco legacy. She commended the trainees' innovative spirit and their enduring connection to the institution.
The institute proudly recognized the outstanding achievements of its trainees in academics and co-curricular activities, celebrating their talent and values. The memorable event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a spirited rendition of the Don Bosco anthem, filling the hall with joy and pride.
