By Fr Charles Anthony for BISMumbai
In a captivating fusion of intellect, creativity, and marketing prowess, Don Bosco College, Kurla, played host to the eagerly anticipated marketing event on 9 August 2023 organized by the students of the Third Year Bachelors in Management (TY BMS) in collaboration with the Bosco Literary Club (BLC). Drawing inspiration from the iconic movie franchise 'Mission Impossible’, the event brought together young minds from diverse backgrounds to delve into the world of marketing strategies and branding ingenuity.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as participants and spectators gathered at the Mondini Hall, where the event unfolded against a backdrop of strategic challenges and exhilarating games. Graced by a panel of esteemed judges, including Dr Mamatha D’Souza, Dr Anoushka Mirgnani, Prof. Abhishek Parkar, and Dr Tanishia Lobo, the occasion promised a day of intellectual stimulation and friendly competition.
Opening the event, the charismatic host, Ms Zainab Saify, extended a warm welcome to the judges and attendees. With the stage set, an engaging icebreaker activity ensued. As the icebreaker concluded, participants embarked on a number of games that helped them conceptualise innovative branding ideas, including logos, taglines, and advertisements. The games tested their ability to blend creativity with strategic thinking, a cornerstone of effective marketing.
A notable highlight of the event was the insightful address by the panel of judges, all esteemed professors in their own right. Sharing their wealth of experience, they provided participants with invaluable insights into the nuances of marketing and branding.
The event concluded on a high note with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms Saify, who expressed gratitude to dignitaries, staff, organising committee members, and dedicated volunteers who contributed to the event's success. As the applause resonated throughout the hall, winners were crowned and accolades distributed.
In retrospect, the TY-BMS and BLC Marketing Event emerged as an unequivocal triumph. Beyond the exhilarating games and friendly competition, the event served as an educational and enlightening platform, offering participants a glimpse into the intricate world of marketing. Fostering innovation, creativity, and strategic thinking, the event underscored the significance of effective marketing in today's dynamic business landscape.
