By Mrs Ashoo Varma and Mr Nitin Pawar for BISMumbai
On 29 July 2022, Don Bosco School & Junior College, Nashik, celebrated Mother's Day with great pomp to express gratitude towards all those mothers who make numerous sacrifices to bring smiles on their children's faces. The mothers of the primary section were especially invited for the programme.
Dr Pranita Gujrathi, a reputed family physician as well as a well-known social activist, was the chief guest for the event. The Rector, Fr Royal D'Abreo, along with the Principal, Fr Cedrick Sankul, graced the occasion with their lively presence.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a solemn prayer service by the school students. A beautiful song dedicated to mothers was sung by Ms Srushti Pagare, while Ms Owi Malusure touched the audience by her emotional speech on the most important person in every child's life - mother. This was followed by a dance performed by the mothers (parents) and their children displaying the strong bonds of love and affection between them.
Dr Gujrathi praised the school for initiating such a beautiful programme dedicated to mothers. In her speech, she emphasized on the role of mother after the pandemic, the nutrition and the hygiene habits that the mother must inculcate in her child and above all mothers to teach their children how to be good human beings and to respect all women.
Fr Sankul proposed the vote of thanks to all present for the programme, and stressed upon the importance of the mother’s role in child's upbringing and also emphasized on the significance of family values that are inculcated by mothers in their children.
