Don Bosco High School & Jr. College, Naigaon East, recently hosted its much-awaited Kala Utsav – a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and consciousness. This event was woven around the dual themes of “Care for Creation” and “Patriotism”, aiming to inspire students to express their artistic talents while fostering environmental responsibility and love for the nation.

Beginning from August 13 to August 18, the school came alive with colour and creativity as students from classes 1 to 7 showcased an impressive array of art and craft exhibits. Using clay, recycled materials, leaves, old bottles, paper, and other eco-friendly resources, they transformed simple items into unique works of art. The creativity on display reflected both innovation and a commitment to sustainable living.

The corridors and notice boards of the school were adorned with paintings, sketches, collages, and thematic displays. Each piece told a story — from the beauty of nature and the urgency to protect it, to the valour of India’s freedom fighters and the pride of our cultural heritage. The students also prepared intricate craft articles such as decorative lamps, clay models, leaf art, and sculptures made from ‘best out of waste’, proving that art can be both beautiful and environmentally conscious.

Teachers guided the students in blending artistic skills with meaningful messages, while encouraging them to explore their imagination. Parents and visitors who witnessed the event were full of admiration for the talent and thoughtfulness reflected in every creation.

The art and craft teachers trained the students with dedication, bringing out their creativity and talent to the fullest. Their efforts were reflected in the vibrant displays that added depth and beauty to the Utsav.

The Kala Utsav not only provided a platform for budding artists to shine but also served as a reminder that art has the power to educate, inspire, and bring about positive change. It was a genuine celebration of creativity, patriotism, and environmental responsibility, underscoring the importance of caring for the Earth and all its living beings.
