On August 10, 2025, the Don Bosco Past Pupils Savedi Unit came together for a significant gathering that aimed to celebrate unity, honor contributions, and renew the spirit of Don Bosco. This meeting was not just a formal event but a heartfelt occasion to bring past pupils closer to the values they had imbibed during their formative years at Don Bosco School, Savedi.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Fr Richard Burkao, Fr Ajit Munis (Delegate of Past Pupils), Mr Madan Nair (Vice President, GEX), Mr Marcus Patole (Zonal In-charge), and Sir Francis Patole, along with a large number of enthusiastic past pupils who arrived with eagerness and pride to reconnect with their alma mater.
The programme began on a warm and gracious note with the felicitation of the dignitaries, acknowledging their invaluable support and dedication to the Past Pupils movement. Each felicitation symbolized gratitude for their constant encouragement and contribution toward nurturing the bonds of the Don Bosco family.
The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Mr Madan Nair, who eloquently traced the journey of the Past Pupils Unit since its inception. He emphasized its true mission – not just to remain a nostalgic association but to actively live the values of Don Bosco in everyday life. Mr Nair called upon the members to stay connected, foster fraternity, and contribute meaningfully to both the school and society at large, reflecting the Salesian ethos of service and solidarity.
Following this, Fr. Ajit Munis shared a heartfelt message with the gathering. He expressed deep gratitude for the presence and enthusiasm of the members, reiterating the vital role that past pupils play in sustaining the Don Bosco mission. Fr. Ajit urged everyone to become ambassadors of the Don Bosco spirit, engaging in educational, social, and charitable initiatives that make a tangible difference in the community.
A Q&A session brought an interactive dimension to the program, allowing members to clarify queries, share ideas, and explore ways to strengthen the Savedi Unit. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to keeping the Don Bosco vision alive in practical and impactful ways.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all who contributed to the success of the event. A group photograph captured the joy and camaraderie of the moment, followed by refreshments that provided an opportunity for informal fellowship and networking.
The day ended on a note of optimism, as the active participation of young past pupils signaled a renewed and promising chapter for the Savedi Unit, rooted in faith, friendship, and the enduring legacy of Don Bosco.
