Don Bosco had always urged his young boys, “Jump, run, shout but do not sin”. This has become the trademark all over the Salesian world when it gets involved with youth on the playground. The youth of Guram (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh) region witnessed and enjoyed a wonderful gathering of the youth at Don Bosco Kawant on August 17, 2025. The event was organized by the youth along with the youth delegate of Don Bosco Alirajpur. There were 77 youth gathered from Dakor, Narukot, Chota Udepur, Makarpura, Alirajpur and Kawant.
The event began with Mass for which Fr Agnel Dias was the main celebrant. Fr Shawn in his sermon insisted the youth to keep the fire burning within themselves, challenging them to be ready to face any challenge which may come in various forms.
Fr Mayank, the Rector of Don Bosco Kawant, welcomed the youth to be cheerful in their participation in the activities which would be carried out not only for the day but throughout their life. The youth of Alirajpur along with their youth director began the event dividing the youth in 6 different teams. The program was divided into three sets of games.
The first set was Puzzle Games which were played in the school hall. A simple maze puzzle allowed the Salesians to participate as representatives of the youth group. Another indoor game was Stamping the Mine which created keen interest in the participants.
The second set was outdoor games like French Cricket, Dodging the Ball and Dog & the Bone which were played in teams. To ignite more fire, Br Ralston Rozario, with his dance moves made the youth to move to the rhythm of their heart. After that Fr Shawn along with his youth exhibited a Zumba dance session which brought more energy. After lunch there was a small interval of karaoke by the Baroda Youth which brought out the talents they possess.
The final set was the Tug of War where they revealed their real physical strength. Fr Xavier thanked the Don Bosco Kawant community and their support staff, along with the boarding boys who helped, all the youth delegates of the Gujarat region, and all the youth who participated and cooperated with the organizers. The day ended with a playful spray of water from a hosepipe, letting everyone get wet as a joyful farewell to the celebration.
