August 16, 2025, was a day filled with joy at St. Therese Parish in Kuwait as we celebrated the feast of St. Don Bosco, the esteemed Founder and Father of the Salesian congregation. As a parish deeply rooted in the Salesian tradition, this occasion brought together our Salesian Priests, Salesian Cooperators, Salesian Past Pupils, and the entire parish community in a spirit of festivity.
The Eucharistic Celebration was led by our Parish Priest and Rector, Fr Savio D’Souze, along with the assistant Parish Priest, Fr Joe Fernandes, Fr Derrick Misquitta, Director of Don Bosco School (IEAS), and Fr James Tuscano, the Principal. The church was fully packed, with students from Don Bosco School and parishioners coming together in unity.
The service began with a brief introduction to the life of Don Bosco. During the homily, Fr. Savio passionately elaborated on Don Bosco’s mission to uplift the poor and serve the youth.
A particularly significant moment occurred when two of our aspirants, Mrs Diana Crasto and Mrs Arul Rose Chettair, made their Promises after two years of dedicated training, officially joining the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The Salmiya Parish Youth Group (SPY) added to the joy of the celebration with their lively singing. Two of our budding youth photographers were there to capture this memorable celebration.
The evening concluded with a small gathering to congratulate and welcome our two new members into the family of Salesian Cooperators.
The journey of the Cooperators in Kuwait began in 2006 with just 12 members. Since then, it has grown into a vibrant group, actively engaging with the youth, St. Therese Parish is know for its youth friendly environment, organizing various activities to inspire and motivate them, and raising funds to support Salesian missions in India.
As we move forward, we pray for the strength to continue Don Bosco's mission and seek his blessings upon us.
