To commemorate the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, the 21st Marian Quiz 2025 was celebrated with great joy, devotion, and a spirit of learning at Amrutdhara Don Bosco, Kapadvanj on Sunday, August 10, 2025. The event was specially organized for Catholic children, aiming to deepen their love for Our Blessed Mother and to nurture their knowledge of the faith.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt welcome by Fr. Ashwin Macwan SDB, Director of Amrutdhara Don Bosco, who also led everyone into a prayerful atmosphere with a meaningful invocation. This set the tone for the day, grounding the competition in faith and unity. Bro. Tony Manickam SDB, Administrator of Don Bosco Kapadvanj, then honored Our Blessed Mother by garlanding her statue, a gesture of reverence and devotion, before officially declaring the competition open.
Five vibrant parish teams from the Diocese of Ahmedabad participated in this year’s quiz:

Catholic Church Umreth
Catholic Church Vadtal
Catholic Church Balasinor
The quiz was not the only highlight of the day. Alongside the main competition, Marian-themed puzzles and activities were introduced, enabling participants to explore the life of Mary in a more interactive and enjoyable way. This creative approach kept the children engaged while fostering teamwork and spiritual growth.
The competition itself was brilliantly hosted by Mr. Meet Parmar, SYM Secretary of Don Bosco Kapadvanj. His energetic and dynamic style brought life to every round, ensuring a perfect blend of excitement and healthy competition. The participants displayed remarkable preparation and enthusiasm, making each segment both challenging and inspiring.
After several intense rounds, the final results were announced:
1st Place: Catholic Church Balasinor
2nd Place: Catholic Church Umreth
3rd Place: Catholic Church Vadtal
The winning teams were presented with attractive prizes, while all participants received consolation gifts in recognition of their dedication and spirited involvement. The joy of learning and celebrating faith was evident in the smiling faces of the children, parents, and parish representatives. Shradha Parmar, one of the Participants remarked, "Through this competition on Mary I have realized Jesus' place in my life."
In his concluding address, Fr. Ashwin Macwan SDB expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Salesian community and the staff of Don Bosco Kapadvanj for their invaluable contribution to the success of the event. Special appreciation was extended to Aryan Gohil, Pravin Parmar, Anand Macwan, and Rehan Vaghela for their tireless efforts and commitment.
The celebration concluded with a family-style lunch, where all gathered in a warm and fraternal atmosphere. As participants departed, they carried with them not just prizes and memories, but also a renewed devotion to Mary and a deeper appreciation for the treasures of their faith.
