On August 8, 2025, the pre-primary section of St. Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Wadala, set out on a delightful picnic to “Play 'N' Learn” at Phoenix Mall, Kurla. The children arrived at school by 8 a.m., filled with excitement and eager anticipation for the day ahead. Accompanied by our ever-zealous Principal, four dedicated teachers, and a group of enthusiastic parent volunteers, the children were safely transported to the venue. Their presence ensured that the little ones were well taken care of and enjoyed the outing under constant supervision. Play 'N' Learn offered a vibrant and engaging environment, specially designed to combine learning with play. The children enthusiastically participated in a variety of age-appropriate activities including bouncing joyfully on a large trampoline, splashing around in a fun water play zone, digging and building in a sand area that encouraged sensory exploration, and engaging in many more interactive games that stimulated creativity and motor skills. These activities were thoughtfully curated to cater to the developmental needs of pre-primary children, promoting physical activity, social interaction, and cognitive growth through play.
The children reveled in the freedom to explore and learn in a setting that was both fun and educational. The trampoline activity saw kids laughing and bouncing with glee, practicing their balance and coordination. The water play zone was a hit with the kids, who enjoyed splashing and playing with water in a safe and controlled environment. The sand area allowed for creativity and imagination to flourish as children built, dug, and crafted their own mini-landscapes. Other interactive games and play zones at Play 'N' Learn further enriched the experience, ensuring every child found something that piqued their interest and kept them engaged.
To keep the children energized throughout the day, nutritious snacks and a delicious lunch were provided by the organizers. This ensured that the day remained smooth and enjoyable for everyone. The food was well-received by the children, who were happy to refuel and recharge for more play and learning.
The picnic proved to be a perfect blend of fun, learning, and exploration. It was a memorable experience for our pre-primary students—one that not only offered joyful moments but also supported their social and developmental growth in a safe, friendly environment. The outing fostered a sense of community among the children, teachers, and parent volunteers, all of whom played a part in making the day a success. Feedback from both parents and teachers highlighted the positive impact of the picnic on the children, emphasizing how the experience contributed to their development in a fun and engaging manner.
In conclusion, the pre-primary picnic was a resounding success. The day was filled with activities that promoted learning through play, ensured the children's safety and enjoyment, and created lasting memories for everyone involved.
Following the picnic, the children returned to school with big smiles, sharing their experiences and favorite moments with classmates and teachers. The picnic was a topic of discussion in the days that followed, with children reliving their fun through drawings, stories, and play. Parents appreciated the effort put into organizing a safe, engaging, and fun outing for the pre-primary section. The collaboration between teachers, parent volunteers, and the organizers at Play 'N' Learn contributed significantly to the success of the event. Overall, the picnic reinforced the importance of experiential learning and play in the early years of education. The pre-primary team looks forward to planning more such enriching experiences for the children in the future.
