On August 24, 2025, Don Bosco Parish, Nashik, in collaboration with the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Nashik, joyfully celebrated Marian Day for the youth of the city. The event was graciously hosted by Fr Royal, the Parish Priest, together with the Salesian community, and was animated by the licentiate brothers of Divyadaan, whose creative coordination brought vibrancy and energy to the day. Participants arrived from Don Bosco and Satpur, St Anne’s, St Patrick’s, and Holy Cross parishes, making a lively gathering of around 100 enthusiastic young people.
The celebration began at 9 a.m. with registration, followed by the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr Kishore, Youth Director of the Diocese of Nashik, with the theme, ‘Aid Us to Mirror Thee, Mary’. The Holy Eucharist set the tone for the day, uniting the youth in faith and devotion to Our Blessed Mother. A joyful group photo captured the spirit of communion and friendship among all participants.
The morning, then, gave way to a series of engaging and interactive activities, with participants divided into eight groups: Lourdes, Guadalupe, Fatima, Matunga, Bandel, Bandra, Velankanni, La Salette. The games, such as, Marian Crorepati, Bible Dash, Marian Melody Challenge, Litany War, and more, were not only fun-filled, but also faith-nourishing. The creativity and enthusiasm of the brothers ensured that every participant was fully engaged, learning while enjoying. The air was filled with laughter, competition, and above all, a devotional love for Mary. A festive grand lunch at 1.15 p.m. provided a time for relaxation, sharing, and fellowship.
In the afternoon, Fr. Leon, Youth In-charge of Don Bosco Parish, delivered an inspiring talk on the universal call to vocation, encouraging the young people to discern their path in life with openness and courage. To keep the spirit vibrant, the youth were treated to a joyful session of dance and fun, giving them space to express their happiness and youthful energy.
The highlight of the day came with the arrival of His Lordship Bishop Barthol Baretto, who offered words of encouragement and wisdom. Addressing the youth, he emphasized the importance of hope and resilience, reminding them that even amidst life’s challenges, faith in Christ and devotion to Mary can sustain and strengthen them. His presence gave the celebration a truly ecclesial and uplifting conclusion.
The day ended with the much-awaited prize distribution, where the Velankanni team emerged as champions, though in spirit every participant left as a winner, strengthened in faith, united in friendship, and inspired to walk with Mary towards Christ.
