“Look at life with the eyes of a child.” – Kathe Kollwitz
On August 9, 2025, Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga, under the able leadership of Head Teacher Mrs Griselda Fernandes, hosted a truly inspiring and memorable Vision Board Exhibition by the students of Std IV. Organized as part of the school’s ongoing Wellness Programme, the exhibition was not just another school event but an enriching experience that combined creativity, imagination, and self-reflection. It gave every child an opportunity to pause, dream, and envision the future they desire.
A vision board, though simple in form, is profound in purpose. It is a canvas where young learners can creatively express their ambitions, set meaningful and achievable goals, and remind themselves that perseverance, effort, and the right mindset can turn dreams into reality.
In preparation for this unique showcase, the Wellness teachers guided the children with clarity and encouragement, explaining how their boards should go beyond colourful images to include values, strengths, and personal aspirations. The class teachers too added their valuable inputs, nurturing each child’s ideas with care, while parents enthusiastically collaborated at home. This made the process a beautiful partnership between school and family.
The outcome of this combined effort was nothing short of delightful. The vibrant, thought-provoking, and heartwarming boards reflected not only the imagination of the students but also their sincerity, determination, and growing sense of self-awareness.
As visitors walked through the exhibition, they were struck by the variety of dreams displayed. Some children highlighted their desire to excel academically, others expressed their passion for sports, music, dance, or art, while many emphasised values such as kindness, gratitude, empathy, and friendship. This showed that the seeds of character-building are taking root alongside talent and ambition.
The boards stood as colourful yet powerful reminders that when young minds are given the space to reflect and dream responsibly, they develop resilience, clarity of thought, and the courage to face challenges with optimism.
The exhibition was without doubt a resounding success, leaving teachers, parents, and visitors deeply impressed and inspired by the depth and positivity radiating from the students’ work. More than just an activity, it was a celebration of hope, determination, and purpose—a moment where the school community could see the bright future of Don Bosco’s young learners shining through each carefully crafted board.
Indeed, the Vision Board Exhibition will be remembered not only as a creative showcase but also as a meaningful milestone in the school’s journey of guiding its children towards becoming dreamers who dare, achievers who persist, and compassionate individuals who value the power of purpose in their lives.
As Master Viyan Pinto of Std IV D aptly shared in his feedback: “My vision board is to know what I want, prioritise, and then remind myself of my goals every day, so that I can take all the possible actions to make them a reality.”
