“A picnic is not just a break from books, but a classroom under the open sky where laughter and learning walk hand in hand.” — Anonymous
The students of Standards I, II and III of Don Bosco High School, Matunga, went on their much-awaited picnic on August 26, 2025, organized by the school. Each standard was taken to an exciting destination that matched their age and interests. Std I students enjoyed their fun-filled day at Play ‘N’ Learn. The little ones were completely engrossed in different activities—some became doctors, some rode vehicles on their own, while others happily played in the sand. They also had a wonderful time exploring the ball pools, slides, and other play zones, making it a day full of joy and laughter. Their excitement knew no bounds as they ran from one activity to another, making new friends and cherishing every moment together. Master Reyansh Rajak from Class I C shared, “I loved the picnic today. I enjoyed playing with the colourful balls and slides. I also made new friends.” His words reflected the happiness of every child who experienced the magic of play and togetherness.
The students of Standards II and III had an adventurous day at KidZania, Ghatkopar. They enthusiastically shared their wonderful experiences, with many proudly earning Kidzos—the special currency of KidZania. Some chose to save them for future use, while others happily spent them on fun activities and treats. From simulation experiences in an aircraft and a wildlife safari, to riding in an ambulance and role-playing as a firefighter, delivery person, baker, and many more, every activity proved to be truly enriching and worthwhile. The students of Class III D shared their excitement by expressing how much they enjoyed every role-play activity and how thrilled they were to earn and spend Kidzos. Master Myron Monteiro said, “I felt like a real pilot when I sat in the cockpit. It was amazing to fly an aircraft on my own!” Master Vihaan Uppal shared, “Being a firefighter was my favourite part. I loved spraying water and saving people—it made me feel like a hero.” Master Ryan D’Souza added, “I enjoyed baking doughnuts at M.O.D. the most. It was so much fun to make and then taste them.”
Adding to the fun, the students also enjoyed Zumba sessions, where both children and teachers danced together with great enthusiasm. Watching their teachers join in the fun made the experience even more memorable for the little ones. The music, laughter, and energy lit up the atmosphere, making the picnic a celebration of joy and bonding. Mrs Samantha Cardoz, class teacher of Std II B, expressed her joy saying that she loved seeing the boys enjoy themselves and learn new things. “They were so enthusiastic and had a lot of fun.”
The day was truly unforgettable as the students not only enjoyed themselves but also discovered new talents, learned the value of teamwork, and experienced the joy of friendship. The picnic was a perfect blend of fun, learning, and cherished memories that the children will carry with them for a long time.
