Cultural Days are among the most eagerly awaited events at Don Bosco High School, Matunga’s Primary Section. This year, the students of Std III celebrated their Cultural Day on September 13, 2025 in Fr Joseph Casti Hall, with the theme “The World is a Rainbow – Dream, Hope, Achieve.” Thanks to the joint efforts of teachers and parents, the hall was beautifully decorated, radiating warmth and positivity.
The celebration opened with a cheerful Welcome Song by Std III C, joyfully greeting the school management and parents, setting a lively tone for the occasion. This was followed by a graceful Prayer Dance by Std III B, expressing gratitude and connecting hearts to the Divine.
A highlight of the day was the musical performance “The World is a Rainbow” by Std III A and III D. Through a blend of dance and drama, the students conveyed a powerful message: in every storm, hope is the guiding light. The act of dropping the Anchor of Hope symbolized the strength of dreams, determination, and resilience.
In a well-prepared Vote of Thanks, Master Caleb Dias, Vice-Captain of the Primary Section, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school management, Head Teacher, and teachers for their tireless efforts. He especially thanked the Head Teacher for her valuable guidance during rehearsals and acknowledged the parents who collaborated with the teachers to make the programme memorable.
Principal Fr Flovi D’Souza, in his address, spoke about the Salesian system of education where learning extends beyond classrooms. He congratulated the teachers for the heartwarming performances and smooth flow of the event. The Head Teacher, Mrs Griselda Fernandes, too, appreciated the collective efforts of teachers, students, and parents, her words further uplifting the spirit of the day.
To conclude, the students of Std III C returned to the stage with a heartfelt Thank-You Song, sincerely appreciating everyone who contributed to the day’s success.
Reflecting on the programme, the teachers of Std III – Mrs Pearl Lobo, Mrs Ranjana Bhandare, Ms Meril Menezes, and Mrs Shahnaaz Abbas – shared that Cultural Day was more than just a celebration. It was a step towards nurturing 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
The students, brimming with excitement, shared that they were already looking forward to another Cultural Day. The celebration ended with students and parents leaving the hall with joy, gratitude, and cherished memories of a day that truly lived up to its theme – Dream, Hope, Achieve.
