Don Bosco English Medium School, Chhotaudepur, came alive with colours, music, and devotion as it celebrated the much-awaited Navratri festival on September 29, 2025. The event, filled with joy and tradition, began at 5:20 p.m. in the school hall, which was packed with students, parents, and well-wishers.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Fr Agnel Dias, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco English Medium School, Kawant. In his address, he explained the deeper meaning of Navratri and how the festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil while also uniting people of all ages and communities. His words inspired everyone to celebrate not just with dance and music, but also with values of harmony and togetherness.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion were the esteemed judges: Ms Rekha, Ms Rosina, boarding mistresses of Aradhna Sadan girls hostel and Sr Nirmala, in-charge of Aradhna Sadan girls hostel who had the challenging task of evaluating the various performances.
The event witnessed a variety of competitive rounds. Beginning with the lively performances of the pre-primary children, the energy continued with the primary students, who displayed their graceful moves in traditional attire. Parents too enthusiastically participated in their special round, filling the hall with cheer and laughter. The general round brought everyone together, showcasing the true spirit of Navratri through synchronized dance steps and vibrant costumes.
The school management had arranged for special gifts and prizes in different categories, including Best Dancer and Best Costume for each round. These awards were received with excitement and pride, encouraging both children and parents to continue nurturing cultural traditions.
A highlight of the celebration was the wholehearted participation of parents, who not only danced but also expressed their gratitude towards the school management and staff. Many parents appreciated the platform provided for families to come together, celebrate their culture, and strengthen bonds within the school community.
The event concluded at 7:20 p.m., after nearly two hours of music, dance, and fellowship. The joy on the faces of students and parents was a testimony to the success of the program.
The Garba celebration at Don Bosco English Medium School, Chhotaudepur, was not just a festive event, but a cultural experience that brought together children, parents, teachers, and guests, reinforcing the values of unity, celebration, and tradition.
