The Annual Sports Day of Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik, was celebrated on November 28, 2025 with great enthusiasm, discipline, and a vibrant spirit of healthy competition. The event commenced with the dignified arrival of the Guard of Honour, followed by the much-awaited entry of the Chief Guest, Mr Manish Boraste, Director of Ashwamedh Career Officer, whose presence added grace and prestige to the occasion. He was accompanied by Rector Fr Royal, Principal Fr Rixson, members of the management, and Vice President of PTA Mr Bhand.
The programme began with a devotional Prayer Dance, invoking God’s blessings for a successful and memorable day. This was followed by an energetic and impressive Bike Rally, symbolising vigour, teamwork, and the true spirit of Don Bosco.
A heartfelt Welcome Address was delivered by Fr Rector, who extended warm greetings to the Chief Guest, parents, teachers, and students. The Introduction and Felicitation of the Chief Guest, Mr Manish Boraste, highlighted his achievements and contributions to the community. A beautifully choreographed Theme Dance then captivated the audience with its creativity and powerful message.
The event continued with the Introduction and Felicitation of the March Past Judges, Mr Vaibhav Khawale and Mr Pravin Palod, after which all Houses participated in a well-coordinated March Past. The Chief Guest then hoisted the Annual Sports Flag and officially declared the Sports Meet open, marking the beginning of the day’s competitions. In his inspiring address, Mr Boraste encouraged students to strive for excellence and uphold the values of sportsmanship.
A spectacular series of Drill Displays by students from Std 1 to Std 6 followed, each performance showcasing precision, discipline, and teamwork. Between these displays, the atmosphere grew increasingly energetic with the Track Events, conducted in batches. Students demonstrated remarkable speed, endurance, and determination across all levels. The excitement peaked during the Final Track Events, where the air was filled with cheers, enthusiasm, and anticipation.
The traditional Tug of War ignited roaring support from all Houses, while the Parents’ Special Event added joy and enthusiastic participation from the parent community.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony honoured the winners for their outstanding performances on the field. The programme then moved to the ceremonial Lowering of the Annual Sports Flag, symbolising the closing of the meet. This was followed by the Announcement and Felicitation of the Best Athletes (Boys & Girls) and the Overall Best House (Champion House), acknowledging exceptional talent, perseverance, and team spirit.
The celebration concluded with the Putting Off of the Sports Flame and the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a deep sense of pride, unity, and accomplishment.
A sincere Vote of Thanks was proposed by Fr Principal, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, staff, parents, volunteers, and students for making the 2025 Sports Day a grand success.
