Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Nerul, joyfully celebrated Grandparents’ Day with its Foundational Stage-1 section on Friday, September 12, 2025. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the love, wisdom, and guidance that grandparents provide in the lives of children. It was a day dedicated to recognizing their irreplaceable role in nurturing values and passing on traditions to younger generations.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Rector Fr Barnabe D’Souza, Principal Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, and Vice Principal and Administrator Fr Shekar Mariadas. They warmly welcomed the grandparents, expressed gratitude for their presence, and highlighted how significant their role is in shaping character and instilling values in children. Their words set the tone for the event, emphasizing the strength of intergenerational bonds.
The programme began in the classrooms with a vibrant song presentation. Children, dressed as their grandparents, sang joyfully, creating a heartwarming tribute that brought smiles and applause. The atmosphere soon filled with laughter and excitement as the grandparents participated in fun-filled games alongside their grandchildren. This
encouraged playful interaction while fostering closer bonds. The activities showcased the spirit of togetherness and created lasting memories for both young and old.
Adding a creative element, the children, along with their grandparents, lovingly prepared a memorable craft activity. This collaborative experience became a highlight of the day, as small hands worked alongside guiding hands, symbolizing the transfer of love, care, and creativity across generations. The joy of crafting together gave grandparents a cherished keepsake while reinforcing their importance in the children’s lives.
The celebration culminated in a lively dance jam session and ramp walk. Grandparents and grandchildren danced freely to cheerful music, while the ramp walk added an extra sparkle as families showcased their twinning outfits. Walking hand-in-hand, the grandparents and grandchildren radiated pride and happiness, embodying the true essence of the celebration.
The event witnessed wholehearted participation, with smiling faces, warm embraces, and countless moments of joy. Grandparents expressed heartfelt appreciation to the school for organizing such a meaningful programme and noted how the event made them feel valued and deeply connected.
Grandparents’ Day at Dominic Savio Kindergarten was not merely a celebration, but a reminder of the invaluable role grandparents play in shaping young lives. The school community rejoiced in strengthening intergenerational ties, cherishing this special relationship, and creating memories that will remain etched in hearts for years to come.
