The spirit of Christmas came alive with great joy and fervour at Don Bosco High School, Naigaon, as the school and college celebrated Christmas on December 23, 2025 on the school ground. The celebration beautifully reflected the Salesian spirit of faith, family, joy, and service, making it a truly memorable occasion for the entire Don Bosco family.
The festive spirit was set in motion a day prior, as students enthusiastically decorated their classrooms and corridors with colourful lights, creative ornaments, and thoughtful themes, transforming the campus into a joyful celebration. A beautifully prepared Christmas Crib, crafted by students under the guidance of their Art teachers, added a meaningful reminder of the humble birth of Jesus. On the day of the celebration, the programme began on the school ground with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by melodious house-wise Christmas carol performances that filled the air with festive cheer and harmony.
The gathering was then addressed by the Rector, Fr Dominic Martis. He encouraged everyone to celebrate Christmas not merely as a festival, but as a way of life—by spreading love, peace, forgiveness, and generosity, values that lie at the heart of the Salesian mission.
A meaningful tableau by the Primary Section depicted the birth of Christ alongside present-day challenges, conveying the message that Christ brings peace, hope, and joy to a troubled world. Reflecting the true spirit of Christmas, the school community generously contributed towards hamper tickets for the benefit of deserving sick children and NGOs, while the lucky draw added moments of joy and excitement.
The Principal, Fr Anthony Fonseca, then shared his Christmas message, highlighting the values of gratitude, generosity, and the joy of giving. He reminded everyone that Christmas finds its true meaning when we become instruments of God’s love, especially to those in need.
The celebration reached its peak with the lively entry of Santa Claus, whose cheerful rally and distribution of gifts filled the ground with laughter, excitement, and joy.
In conclusion, the Christmas celebration at Don Bosco High School, Naigaon, was not merely an event, but a true celebration of the Salesian spirit—where faith met joy, service met celebration, and togetherness strengthened the bonds of the Don Bosco family. The day left everyone with cherished memories and renewed hearts, ready to carry the message of Christmas—love, peace, and hope—into their daily lives.
