Don Bosco Youth Nashik was buzzing with power as dancers occupied the parish hall to hold on to an entertaining competition, Let’s Nacho 2025, on November 16, 2025. Dancers from the city turned up with their finest dance moves. This made a regular Sunday night one to be remembered - with flair, movement, and all heart and soul. The style moves and grace in every dance performance kept the crowd entertained without the need to use over-the-top drama.
The event started out with a warm reception of the guests and the judges. The panel included three well-known names: Mrs Sophie Lewis, the owner of a renowned Zumba class in the city, where she teaches energetic dances; Ms Vasanti Nikam, a guru of traditional Indian dances; and Ms Tanya Dutta, a star who has choreographed brilliant contemporary dances. Together they provided constructive and positive judgement to all the contestants.
A number of other notable guests, including the representatives of the neighbouring religious communities were also present, making the night look significant. The event commenced with a welcome speech given by Fr Rixson Nigrel SDB, the Vice Rector and Principal of Don Bosco High School and Junior College. In his address he spoke about the real soul of dancing - the way it enables individuals to find out their own inner source of strength and convert it into something that matters, in addition to uplifting the spirits, and uniting the people.
As the competition commenced, music and applause echoed in the hall. The dancers performed a variety of styles. All groups showcased their talents which meant hours of practice in terms of accurate choreographic patterns, good stage presence and energy. The tension mounted as the teams performed their best to impress the audience and the judges.
As the performances concluded the audience got a real taste of the entertainment at hand. The first place was bagged by the fine ensemble of St Patrick’s Church, Deolali whose nimble performances and innovative tricks distinguished them. Holy Cross Parish, Nashik won second for their vibrant and well-coordinated performance. The girls from the Maria Vihar Hostel grabbed the third position and impressed all with their energetic performance and eye-catching art.
Another performance that could be mentioned in the same breathe as the winners was the St Philomena High School of Nashik Road - their mesmerizing performance not only attracted the audience but enthralled the judges and the organizers.
In closing the ceremony Fr Royal D'Abreo SDB, the Rector and Parish Priest of the Don Bosco Nashik handed over the prizes to the winners. Fr Leon Rodrigues SDB, the co-ordinator of the event and the Youth Director of the DBYN, gave the vote of thanks where he emphasized the fact that such events unite people, give them new ideas, and make each person appreciate other cultures. The evening concluded with cheers, photo sessions, and a renewed sense of community, marking yet another memorable feather in the hat of the ever-vibrant youth ministry of Don Bosco Youth Nashik.
