On September 14, 2025, the Women’s Cell along with Bombay Catholic Sabha came together with a heart full of service and concern for the well-being of our parish community and organized a Medical health checkup in our Parish, Don Bosco Church, Borivali. Our Parish Priest, Fr Manual supported this initiative and wished all the parishoners would benefit from it. With prayerful preparation and meticulous planning, the members organized the Camp in the parish hall, aimed at creating awareness on preventive healthcare and encouraging families to take charge of their health.
The camp began at 6.30 am. The atmosphere was filled with a spirit of care and concern, as parishioners began arriving for their check-ups. A dedicated team of medical professionals generously offered their time and expertise. Parishioners had the opportunity to undergo routine tests including CBC, Lipid, kidney and liver function, blood sugar and others along with basic health consultations at subsidized rates.
As participants moved from one table to another, they not only received medical guidance but also warm encouragement from the Women’s Cell members, who ensured that everyone felt comfortable and cared for. Tea and biscuits were served to the parishioners who underwent their tests. Out of the total of 91 parishioners who took advantage of this health checkup camp at our parish, 49 chose ProSelf Advanec (Rs 2500/-), 29 chose ProSelf Easy (Rs 1250/-) and the remaining 13 chose other minor checkup packages.
Many parishioners expressed their appreciation for the camp, noting how convenient and reassuring it was to have such services available within the parish community itself.
The day concluded with a note of gratitude from the Women’s Cell and the BCS. Thanks were extended to the medical professionals, volunteers, and parishioners whose participation made the camp a success. Special thanks to Fr Vishal Lopes who meticulously arranged the setup of the health camp and ensured smooth functioning. Special thanks to Melvin, Felix and the entire BCS team who were present till the end for their support provided to make this a successful event.
Above all, heartfelt thanks were offered to God for guiding this initiative, which truly embodied the Christian spirit of service, care, and compassion.
The Medical Health Check-up Camp not only addressed the physical health needs of our parishioners but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship and community. It was a beautiful reminder that when we come together in faith and service, we not only nurture healthier bodies but also build a stronger, more caring parish family.
