Mr Amarr Prabhu – the Principal of DBITI-Kurla, was honoured with the ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ at the EGN (Education Growth Network) Education Leadership Summit & Awards in Mumbai. The prestigious event, held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Four Points by Sheraton, celebrated the invaluable contributions of educators. The summit brought together senior policymakers, eminent educationists, and key stakeholders from across the country for a day of networking, recognition, and insightful discussion on the future of education. The EGN Education Awards aim to honour and reward the exceptional work of ‘education heroes’ and provide a platform to address the challenges facing the education sector. This year’s theme, ‘Focus on Education Growth - Believe, Achieve, Succeed,’ emphasized the commitment to excellence and innovation within the field.
During the summit, the discussions were centered on innovative approaches to education and the role of leadership in shaping the future of students. Panels featuring prominent figures from government and academia addressed the need for a holistic educational framework that went beyond textbooks to prepare students for the complexities of the modern world. Mr Prabhu's award was announced during the gala ceremony, which was attended by leaders from various educational institutions. Reflecting on the honour, Mr Prabhu stated, "I am humbled to receive this award, which I accept on behalf of the entire Don Bosco ITI community. Our collective commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence is what truly makes our institution shine." This recognition is a testament to his impactful vision and dedication, which have been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence within our institution.
The ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ is not just a personal achievement for Mr Prabhu but also a significant milestone for Don Bosco ITI-Kurla. It reinforces the institution’s reputation as a leader in technical and vocational training and aligns with the broader Salesian mission to empower young people through education. This recognition highlights the high standards of leadership upheld by DBITI-Kurla and serves as an inspiration for all to continue striving for excellence. The award also places the institution on a national platform, opening doors for future collaborations and opportunities. As the institution looks ahead, it is inspired to continue its work in shaping "nation builders whose character, spirit, and energy shape the destiny of nations," a sentiment beautifully articulated at the awards ceremony itself. The reception of this award strengthens DBITI-Kurla’s resolve to continue innovating and providing the best possible education for its students.
