The Don Bosco Institute of Media Academy (DBIMA) collaborated with Don Bosco High School, Matunga, to organize a Filmmaking Workshop on Monday, 15th December at 2.00 p.m. in Fr. Bernard Hall. The workshop was conducted for students, parents, and staff members with the objective of creating awareness about filmmaking as an art form, a career option, and opportunities for higher studies in the media field.
The session was conducted by Fr. John Paul, Mr. Prakash, and Mr. Abner, who were accompanied by Mr. Jesuraja, the experienced media educators from DBIMA.
They introduced participants to DBIMA’s vision and contribution to media education while offering valuable insights into various aspects of filmmaking such as direction, cinematography, editing, sound design, scriptwriting, and production management. The speakers emphasized filmmaking as a collaborative process that combines creativity with technical skills.
Special focus was given to career pathways at DBIMA, including diploma and degree programs, hands-on training, and industry exposure. This helped students gain clarity about pursuing media studies and enabled parents and staff to better support students with creative aspirations.
A major highlight of the workshop was the sharing of details about the Cultural Exchange Program to Paris scheduled for May 2026. Experiences from previous exchange programs were shared, inspiring students to explore global opportunities in the field of media.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session. Overall, the DBIMA Filmmaking Workshop was a meaningful and enriching experience that broadened perspectives on filmmaking and reinforced Don Bosco’s commitment to holistic education and creative development.
