The Annual Sports Day of Don Bosco High School, Kawant was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Fr Mathew Katara SDB, who is joyfully celebrating the Silver Jubilee of his priestly ordination. His presence added special significance to the occasion.

The event also witnessed the gracious presence of students from the neighbouring schools, who joined to cheer and motivate the participants. Among the dignitaries was Sister Jeevan, who is likewise celebrating the Silver Jubilee of her religious profession, along with other sisters from the neighbouring convent. Their presence added warmth and encouragement to the day’s celebrations.

The theme for this year’s Sports Day was “Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win.” This inspiring message guided the spirit of the event and motivated all participants to give their best.

In his address, Fr Mathew inspired the students to actively participate in sports and highlighted the numerous benefits of playing games. He emphasized the importance of maintaining true sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork—qualities that sports naturally help to develop.

The Guest of Honour, Fr Mayank, also addressed the gathering and spoke about how sports plays a crucial role in personality development. He stressed that regular participation in physical activities helps individuals improve focus, confidence, and overall well-being.

A good number of parents were present to cheer for their children, adding energy and encouragement to the event. The teachers of Don Bosco High School planned the event meticulously and executed it with precision, ensuring a smooth and vibrant programme. The students too participated with great enthusiasm and displayed true sportsman spirit throughout the day.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the principal Fr Ajay, who expressed gratitude to all participants, teachers, parents, dignitaries, and guests for making the Sports Day a memorable success.
