A special event at Resurrection Church Virar East from October 11 to 15, 2025, was dedicated to the feast day of St Carlo Acutis, which is celebrated on October 12. This period included special prayers and a veneration of his relics, coinciding with his newly established feast day following his canonization.
The story of St Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, is a powerful testament to how holiness can be achieved in the modern digital age. Despite his life being cut short at just 15 years old, his profound faith and creative use of technology continues to inspire young people around the world. His life serves as a relatable roadmap for young Catholics, including the youth of Resurrection Church, showing how a love for the Eucharist and modern skills can be integrated into a vibrant faith journey.
St Carlo Acutis' faith was centered on the Eucharist, which he called his "highway to heaven". From his First Communion at age seven, he made it his mission to attend Mass and Eucharistic Adoration as often as possible. His deep belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament was the wellspring of his spiritual life. His most significant digital apostolate was his website cataloging Eucharistic miracles from around the world. His exhaustive research compiled and presented hundreds of Church approved miracles, providing a powerful online resource to help others understand and believe in the Real Presence.
For the youth of Resurrection Church, St Carlo Acutis' life offers a potent and timely message. In a world saturated with digital content, his story is an invitation to prioritize the Eucharist. Like Carlo, to seek Jesus daily at Mass and in Adoration. It is also an invitation to sanctify their digital life by using their creativity and tech-savviness to spread the Gospel.
Our Parish welcomed the Relic of St. Carlo Acutis on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and it was kept in the Church for veneration from Saturday morning until Wednesday evening, October 15, 2025. Also the church was kept open from morning till evening for those who wanted to pray as a group, family or individual.
Every day after the evening Mass there was a special prayer service conducted along with adoration and confessions. Various groups and associations of the parish conducted prayer services very meaningfully and prayerfully dedicated in honour of St Carlo Acutis’ life Journey. These gatherings aimed to inspire deeper connections with the Eucharist and foster a community spirit among parishioners.
From the altar at Resurrection Church, to the algorithmic maze of our phones, Jesus walks with us. With St Carlo as our companion, the highway to heaven runs right through our neighborhood and right through our hearts.
