The Sahayak Mata Parish, Kawant, organized a three-day Bible Convention for the Christian community of Chhota Udepur District, Gujarat, from October 25 to 27, 2025. Held across three locations — Chikhli, Sanada, and Kawant — the event brought together nearly 500 faithful who gathered to listen to God’s Word, pray, and renew their faith.
The convention was animated by Brother Daniel, a Jain convert to Catholicism, whose personal testimony and deep scriptural insights deeply touched participants. Each evening session was marked by prayer, praise, singing, reflection, and renewal of spirit.
The central theme, “Breaking the Barriers to Come Closer to God,” invited participants to identify and overcome the spiritual walls that separate them from God. Drawing from the story of the Wall of Jericho (Joshua 6), Bro. Daniel explained that the Israelites conquered Jericho not through strength but through obedience and trust in God. He said, “The Jericho wall in our lives is built by sinful habits and disobedience. When we humbly follow God’s Word, these walls fall, and we are free to experience His love.”
The first two days of the convention took place in Chikhli and Sanada, where large crowds gathered to reflect on Scripture and join in community prayer. The evenings were filled with joyful singing, Bible reading, and moments of deep peace and devotion.
The final day’s session, held at Sahayak Mata Parish, Kawant, focused on deliverance and healing. Reflecting on Judges 6, Bro. Daniel reminded the faithful that just as God delivered Israel from its enemies, He continues to free His people from fear, sin, and despair today. The evening concluded with a powerful healing and prayer service, during which Bro. Daniel blessed the sick and suffering with the cross and holy oil. Many participants testified to experiencing peace, consolation, and inner healing.
The Parish Priest of Sahayak Mata Parish expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and the spirit of unity among the faithful. He noted that such gatherings strengthen the Christian community and deepen their understanding of Scripture.
The Bible Convention at Kawant was a spirit-filled experience that renewed hope and faith among believers. Through heartfelt preaching, prayer, and healing, the people of Chhota Udepur once again witnessed that God is alive and active among His people — breaking barriers, restoring faith, and drawing hearts closer to His Love.
