On December 4, 2025, a comprehensive Cyber Crime Awareness Session was conducted at Don Bosco School & Jr College, Nashik as part of a special initiative organized by Radio Mirchi in collaboration with the Nashik Cyber Police. This initiative aimed to address the growing concerns related to cyber safety among young learners and to empower students of Classes 8, 9, and 10 with essential knowledge required to navigate today’s digital world responsibly. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the session served as an important platform to educate students about the risks associated with online activities and to help them develop the skills needed to stay secure in an increasingly technology-reliant society.

The session was facilitated by a Mirchi RJ along with trained cyber-safety officers from the Nashik Cyber Police. These experts brought real-world insights and professional experience to the classroom, ensuring that students received accurate, practical, and up-to-date information. They covered a wide range of relevant topics, beginning with the safe and responsible use of the internet, which laid the foundation for understanding the importance of mindful online behavior. This was followed by discussions on identifying and avoiding various types of online frauds and scams, such as phishing emails, fake websites, and deceptive online messages designed to steal personal information.

A significant portion of the session focused on cyberbullying, an issue that affects many young people today. Students were taught how to identify signs of cyberbullying, how to respond appropriately, and how to report such incidents to trusted adults or the authorities. The officers also explained the importance of protecting personal information and maintaining a secure digital identity, highlighting how careless online habits can make individuals vulnerable to hacking and identity theft.

In addition, the session addressed the rising incidents of gaming frauds, OTP scams, and fake social media accounts. Through examples and demonstrations, students gained a clearer understanding of how cybercriminals operate and how easily one can fall victim without proper caution. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to participate actively, ask questions, and share their own experiences, making the learning process more engaging and effective.

In conclusion, the Cyber Crime Awareness Session proved to be highly informative, enriching, and impactful. It not only deepened students’ understanding of cyber threats but also strengthened their ability to act responsibly and safely online. The program successfully equipped learners with practical strategies and awareness, empowering them to remain vigilant and secure in today’s rapidly advancing digital environment.
