Kawant, September 20, 2025 – DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant marked a memorable day of pride and progress with the graduation of the 5th batch and the inauguration of the 6th batch of the BRIDGE course – BOSCH’s Response to India’s Development and Growth through Employability Enhancement. The occasion was a celebration of achievement, resilience, and the promise of new beginnings for the young participants stepping confidently into the world of employment.
The BRIDGE programme is a two-month vocational training initiative designed by BOSCH India in collaboration with Rotary Club of Jawaharnagar, Vadodara, Muni Seva Ashram, Goraj, and DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant. The course aims to motivate and prepare rural youth for meaningful employment opportunities by equipping them with a unique blend of technical, professional, and personal development skills.
The structured curriculum focuses on Spoken English, Computer Literacy, and Employability Modules, with a special emphasis on workplace readiness and stress management. By fostering both career competencies and life skills, the programme provides participants with the confidence to face professional challenges while opening doors to better career prospects.
The graduation ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution of India, reminding everyone of the values of justice, equality, and dignity which the programme seeks to uphold. The dignitaries then lit the ceremonial lamp, signifying enlightenment and hope.
Fr Mayank Parmar SDB, Director and Rector of DISHA Don Bosco, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. In his address, he highlighted the various initiatives taken by the organization in the field of youth empowerment, skill development, and employment generation. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between institutions, civil society, and corporate partners in creating pathways for the future of young people in tribal and rural areas.
The chief guest of the event was Rotarian Ashok Shah, Past President of the Rotary Club of Jawaharnagar, Vadodara. He was joined by Rotarian Mitesh Vadhai, the current President, Rotarian Manish Shah, and Rotarian Kirit Dholakia, the Project Coordinator. Other dignitaries present included Sr Meena Chauhan, Coordinator of Nikol Bhavan, Kawant, and Br Melvyn Carvalho SDB, Administrator of Don Bosco Kawant.
In their addresses, the dignitaries shared personal life experiences and inspiring words of encouragement with the graduating students. They appreciated the commitment and dedication with which Don Bosco institutions are working to uplift the local youth by creating opportunities for personal growth and professional advancement.
A highlight of the ceremony was the testimony of graduating students. Several participants spoke with gratitude about their journey in the BRIDGE course, expressing how the student-friendly environment at the centre made them feel “at home.” They acknowledged the supportive management and the motivating atmosphere that not only enhanced their skills but also built their confidence to face the future with optimism.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr Hasmukh Christian, who expressed gratitude to all collaborators, trainers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the initiative. The event ended on a joyful note with a group photograph and refreshments, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and shared achievement.
The day was not just about certificates or formalities but about celebrating the transformative power of education and skill training. As the 5th batch graduates step into the world of opportunities and the 6th batch begins their journey, DISHA Don Bosco, in partnership with BOSCH and Rotary, continues its mission to empower youth, transform lives, and build a brighter future for society.
