On September 20, 2025, St Dominic Savio High School came alive with imagination, laughter, and creativity as students, teachers, parents, and grandparents celebrated the Reuphoria Literature Festival. With the theme “Reading Leads to Peace,” the school was transformed into a vibrant hub of stories, learning, and expression.
The Pre-Primary section kicked off the festival with the enchanting three-day celebration, Once Upon a Beginning. Little Savions of the KG section were mesmerized by colourful displays of storybook characters, parades, and lively enactments of tales like The Ugly Duckling, teaching lessons of kindness, inclusivity, and empathy. Storytelling competitions showcased their budding confidence and imagination, while the magical DEAR Time—Drop Everything and Read—invited them to curl up with pillows, soft toys, and books, exploring fanciful worlds. Parents and grandparents added their charm, narrating stories that sparked joy and curiosity.
Nursery students continued the magic on Story Day, donning creative costumes and bringing tales like Buzz the Busy Bee, The Thirsty Crow, and The Courage of Frogs to life. Parents and grandparents added to the charm, narrating stories and sharing animated tales, reinforcing the festival’s message of connection through storytelling.
The Primary section turned storytelling into a festival of creativity. From jungle adventures in Std I to changemaker tales in Std IV, students engaged in quizzes, puzzles, story-building exercises, and presentations. Character parades and themed ramp walks brought the corridors to life, while collaborative performances with parents highlighted how stories can foster teamwork, empathy, and joy.
Secondary students celebrated literature as both art and craft. Guest speakers Mrs Andrea D’Costa and Br Ethan Fortes inspired students through workshops on Creative Writing and Digital Content Creation, encouraging them to explore their voices and express ideas with originality, while focusing on value driven content. Competitions such as Popped out of the Book, the 20th M.R. Pai Memorial English Elocution, Marathi Mono-acting, Hindi Shayari, and the game of Vocabingo showcased talent, language skills, and creativity.
As the festival concluded, students of all ages were reminded that stories are more than words—they are bridges to understanding, empathy, and peace. Reuphoria 2025 celebrated the joy of reading, imagination, and shared experiences, proving that when we read together, we grow together.
