The Foundational Stage I and II of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, reverberated with cheer and celebration as the school observed Children’s Day under the inspiring theme “Every Child a Shining Star”. The morning unfolded as a radiant tribute to childhood — a time of wonder, discovery, and hope.
The celebration commenced with a serene prayer in the classrooms, invoking blessings upon every child. Teachers then introduced the significance of the occasion through an engaging visual presentation on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister and the beloved Chacha Nehru, whose affection for children and vision for their growth continue to inspire generations. The presentation reminded students that they are the architects of tomorrow’s nation.
The festivities progressed to the school auditorium, where an atmosphere of delight and anticipation prevailed. Principal Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, Headmistress Mrs Jyotsna Dsouza, and Pre-primary Supervisor Mrs Mahek Khan graced the occasion with their presence, lending dignity and warmth to the celebration.
The formal programme commenced with a soul-stirring prayer song, which set a tone of gratitude and reverence. The highlight of the morning was a clown show that seamlessly blended humour with social awareness. Through comic skits on themes such as mobile overuse and stranger safety, the performance subtly imparted lessons on mindfulness and caution in a manner both engaging and memorable.
Amid laughter and applause, the teachers enchanted the audience with a vivacious fusion dance, embodying the vitality and affection that define the bond between teacher and student. This was followed by a melodious choral rendition by the teachers, which evoked warmth and camaraderie. The atmosphere reached its crescendo during a lively jam session, where children danced with unrestrained joy, their smiles reflecting the true splendour of the occasion.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts of the staff and the wholehearted participation of the students.
The Children’s Day celebration at Don Bosco Nerul was not merely an event — it was an affirmation of the school’s enduring commitment to nurturing young hearts and minds. It beautifully captured the spirit of the day, honouring the innocence, curiosity, and boundless potential that reside in every child — the luminous stars of a brighter tomorrow.
