The Bollywood Jamming Session held on December 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. turned into a lively and spirited celebration of music, creativity, and community engagement. Organised by Don Bosco Academy in collaboration with Rooftop Jamming, the event witnessed an impressive participation of around 50 enthusiastic attendees. The evening was not merely a performance but a musical exchange that encouraged audience involvement, nostalgia, and artistic expression.
The ambience was intimate and informal, allowing participants to feel naturally connected to the performers. Rooftop Jamming, known for crafting interactive musical experiences, set an inviting tone with its open arrangement, warm lighting, and relaxed seating. This helped individuals settle into the experience comfortably, making the evening feel more like a close-knit gathering than a formal show. The combination of a creative space and a vibrant programme shaped the atmosphere into an engaging musical retreat.
The performers for the evening included a talented lineup of singers and musicians—Manoj Nathan, Mihika, Ravi, Nihit, and Pramod—each contributing uniquely to the session. Their choice of repertoire reflected both old-school Bollywood charm and contemporary cinematic trends. From melodic classics that stirred a sense of nostalgia to foot-tapping modern hits that sparked spontaneous enthusiasm, the performers curated a balanced flow of music that catered to diverse preferences. Listeners hummed along, clapped to the rhythm, and often sang portions of songs, which beautifully transformed the session into a participative celebration.
The open structure of the event allowed audience members to request songs, share suggestions, and engage directly with the musicians. This format helped dissolve the traditional boundary between stage and audience. At several points in the evening, enthusiastic attendees joined the singing, creating harmonious group vocals. The collective energy elevated the experience beyond entertainment, making it an emotionally memorable encounter.
The organisers ensured comfort, accessibility, and quality engagement throughout. The session began with informal greetings and introductions, gradually easing into melodious performances. As the evening progressed, the crowd grew more animated; participants captured memories through photographs, group videos, and live recordings. Multiple attendees expressed appreciation for the inclusive nature of the event and highlighted the joy of sharing familiar Hindi melodies with like-minded individuals.
The session concluded with heartfelt applause and gratitude extended towards the performers and organisers. A short appreciation moment acknowledged the efforts put in by the musicians, as well as the collaborative execution by Don Bosco Academy and Rooftop Jamming. Attendees dispersed with smiling faces, humming tunes, and carrying the warmth of shared music.
Events like these reflect the Academy’s commitment to fostering creative avenues alongside academic development. That simple initiative of two hours of music became an opportunity for emotional rejuvenation, social bonding, and cultural enrichment. The success of this jamming session opened doors for similar experiential programmes in the future, ensuring that community spaces continue to echo with melodies, talent, and togetherness.
