The Annual Day celebration of Don Bosco High School, Kawant was celebrated with great enthusiasm, dignity, and joy, marking a significant milestone in the journey of the institution. The Gujarati Medium commemorated its 31st Annual Day, while the English Medium celebrated its 8th Annual Day. The occasion was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to holistic education and value-based learning. The central theme for the celebration was “Peace,” a message that resonated deeply throughout the programme.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr Mitesh Vadia, the President of Rotary Club of Baroda Jawahar Nagar. The Guests of Honour included Mr Kirit Dholakiya, the former President of Rotary Club, Baroda, and Sir Michael, a retired teacher of Don Bosco High School who has served the institution with dedication since its very beginning. Their presence added immense value and inspiration to the celebration.
The programme began with a warm welcome followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, members of the management, representatives of the PTA, and the esteemed past pupils of the school. The past pupils played a significant role in the celebration by expressing their gratitude to the management. As a meaningful token of appreciation, they generously contributed scholarships for students who had excelled in academics, sports, science, and art. This noble gesture reflected the strong bond between the institution and its alumni and highlighted the spirit of gratitude and responsibility.
The school Annual Report was then presented, showcasing the achievements, progress, and milestones of both the Gujarati and English Mediums over the academic year. The report highlighted the school’s consistent efforts in academic excellence, co-curricular activities, sports, and value education, emphasizing the institution’s vision of forming responsible and compassionate individuals.
A major highlight of the event was a captivating stage performance by the students—a play titled “The Angels of Peace.” The play beautifully portrayed the concept of peace in today’s world and strongly conveyed the message about the misuse of mobile phones and its negative impact on families and relationships. Through powerful acting, meaningful dialogues, and expressive performances, the students effectively communicated the urgent need for peace, harmony, and mindful living in modern society.
The programme concluded on a grateful note with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Principals of both the Gujarati and English Mediums. They expressed sincere appreciation to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, management, staff, students, parents, and all those who contributed to making the Annual Day celebration a grand success. The event truly stood as a memorable occasion, reinforcing the timeless value of peace in education and life.
