Don Bosco High School, Chhotaudepur, has once again made a mark in the field of sports, with its talented girls' hockey teams achieving remarkable success at the district, and state levels. Both the Under-17 and Under-19 girls’ teams showcased exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork, bringing immense pride to the school.
The district-level hockey matches were held at Kawant at the end of September. The Under-17 girls’ team played brilliantly and secured their place in the State-level matches held at Rajkot. Their performance was commendable as they competed with several strong teams, displaying discipline and sporting spirit throughout the tournament. They also participated in the District School Level matches held at Surat, where they continued to demonstrate their growing potential and passion for the game.
Similarly, the Under-19 girls’ hockey team also played at Kawant for the district-level matches. Their outstanding performance earned them a well-deserved selection for the State-level matches at Rajkot, where they represented the district in the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Cup. Competing at such a high level required not only skill but also mental strength, and the team rose to the occasion with great enthusiasm and dedication. They too participated in the District School Level matches held at Surat, gaining valuable experience and exposure.
A special moment of pride for the school came when three players from the Under-19 team namely Hiti Kisan Rathwa, Kinjal Vangariya Rathwa, and Mansi Raju Rathwa were selected to represent the State at the National Level Hockey Tournament. Their hard work, consistency, and never-give-up attitude truly paid off, earning them the opportunity to compete among the best young players in the country.
The three national-level players expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the school management, teachers, parents, and coaches for their continuous support and encouragement. They acknowledged that without the school’s motivation, proper training facilities, and the dedicated guidance of their coaches, such success would not have been possible.
Fr Cedrick Sankul, the Principal and staff of Don Bosco High School congratulated the teams for their outstanding achievements and wished them the very best for the upcoming national-level matches. This achievement not only highlights the talent and commitment of the students but also reflects the school’s ongoing efforts to promote sports as an integral part of holistic education.
The entire Don Bosco family stands proud of these young champions and wishes them very best for their upcoming matches.
