Don Bosco Chinchwad marked a historic milestone with the blessing of its newly installed CNC Machine and the inauguration of the first batch of the Advanced Fitter Course, generously sponsored by KSB.
The ceremony was graced by Fr Colbert da Silva, Administrator of the institute, who blessed the CNC Machine and the batch, expressing gratitude to KSB for their sponsorship. In his address, he urged the trainees to embrace the opportunity, learn diligently, and secure their future with industry-relevant skills.
The newly introduced three-month course has enrolled 20 trainees, who will undergo practical training in Advanced Fitter Techniques, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, CNC Programming, and CNC Machine Operation Simulation using software. The program, concluding in the first week of December 2025, aims to equip students with cutting-edge technical expertise essential for careers in modern manufacturing and engineering.
Welcoming the participants, Fr Anton D’Souza, Director, and Mr Nilesh Chandgude, Principal, introduced Mr Sadashiv Salunkhe, an experienced trainer with over 20 years in CNC programming, as the course instructor. In his message, Fr D’Souza described the batch as "a lucky and historic first," emphasizing the significance of CNC skills and their high demand in today’s market.
The occasion was also graced by Mr Bhagwan Wagh, retired SKF employee and long-time well-wisher of the institute, strengthening the sense of continuity and collaboration.
The management conveyed heartfelt appreciation to KSB for their generous support in setting up the lab, providing the CNC machine, and ensuring state-of-the-art training facilities for the students.
The event concluded with a commemorative photograph of the first batch alongside the dignitaries, capturing the beginning of a new chapter in the institute’s skill development journey.
