On September 17 & 18, 2025, a Medical Check-up Camp was successfully organized in Don Bosco High School, Borivli (W). The event was conducted by the Borivali Medical Brotherhood in association with the Don Bosco Past Pupils’ Association. The primary aim of the camp was to ensure the physical well-being of the students and to instill in them the importance of maintaining good health and hygiene.
Prior to the camp, each student was provided with a medical form in which they were asked to fill in their basic personal and health-related details. This step helped the doctors and medical staff to maintain systematic records and enabled them to carry out the check-up in an organized manner.
During the camp, the students were escorted class-wise to the designated under croft area. A team of experienced doctors and healthcare professionals carried out a thorough examination of the students, checking vital parameters such as height, weight, eyesight, dental hygiene, and general health conditions. This systematic approach ensured that every student underwent a basic yet comprehensive health screening.
Apart from the check-ups, the camp also highlighted the importance of regular medical examinations. Such initiatives help in the early detection of health issues, spread awareness about preventive measures, and encourage children to adopt healthy lifestyles. The doctors emphasized that good health is the foundation of success, both in academics and in life, and therefore must never be neglected.
A special health awareness talk was also conducted for the girls of Classes VII, VIII, IX, and X. The session focused on general health habits, personal hygiene, nutrition, and the importance of regular physical activity. The doctors also addressed common health concerns faced by adolescents, helping the students to develop a positive approach towards their well-being. The talk encouraged the girls to adopt hygienic practices, maintain balanced diets, and be mindful of both physical and emotional health.
The camp was well-received by both students and teachers. It not only provided valuable health insights but also created awareness about the significance of preventive healthcare. The collaboration between the Borivali Medical Brotherhood and the Don Bosco Past Pupils’ Association added great value to the event.
Overall, the medical camp proved to be a highly beneficial and informative initiative, ensuring that students are better equipped to take care of their health and develop habits that will serve them well throughout their lives.
