On December 16, 2025, Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik, organized an insightful and empowering awareness programme focusing on crime prevention, digital responsibility, self-hygiene, and self-safety, aimed at guiding students towards responsible and confident living. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the Principal, Fr Rixson, whose constant encouragement and support made the initiative meaningful and successful.
The programme was graced by Senior Police Inspector Mr Madhukar Shivaji Kad, Gangapur Road Police Station, Nashik, as the Distinguished Guest. A highly respected and renowned officer in the field of crime investigation, Mr Kad is a proud recipient of two Presidential Awards for his outstanding contribution to policing. His leadership has played a vital role in solving several major crimes in the city of Nashik.
While addressing the students, the Senior Inspector spoke candidly about the growing involvement of youngsters in wrongful activities. He highlighted key reasons such as negative media influence, peer pressure, and declining respect for parents and elders. He urged students to remain disciplined, make wise choices, and value family guidance. Emphasizing the commitment of the police force, he dispelled misconceptions about inefficiency and external influence, explaining how modern technology assists law-enforcement agencies in effective and lawful investigations.
To make the session engaging and impactful, Mr Kad conducted a live demonstration by interacting with a few students, taking their mobile numbers, and accurately explaining details related to ownership and the likely whereabouts of their parents. This practical demonstration left the students amazed and created strong awareness about digital footprints and responsible technology usage. The session proved to be educative, eye-opening, and inspiring.
The programme also featured a Seminar on Self-Hygiene and Self-Safety of Girls, conducted by Tr Tejasvi. The session aimed at empowering girl students with essential life skills related to hygiene, physical well-being, emotional health, and personal safety. The trainer emphasized daily hygiene practices, menstrual hygiene management, nutrition, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle, helping dispel myths and encouraging confidence and self-respect.
A major highlight of the seminar was the discussion on self-safety. Students were guided on recognizing unsafe situations, understanding personal boundaries, handling peer pressure, and seeking help from trusted adults. Through real-life examples and open interaction, the trainer created a comfortable environment where students could freely ask questions and gain clarity on sensitive issues.
The combined sessions were highly informative and empowering, leaving students better informed, confident, and responsible.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Senior Police Inspector Mr Madhukar Shivaji Kad and Tr Tejasvi for sharing their valuable time, knowledge, and experiences. Appreciation was also extended to the Principal, Fr Rixson, the management, staff members, and students for their cooperation and support, which ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
