On the September 23 and 24, 2025, Don Bosco School and Junior College organized a two-day Science Exhibition, aimed at nurturing scientific curiosity and innovation among students. The event took place on the school campus under the guidance and leadership of the school Principal, Fr Rixson, who has always encouraged experiential and hands-on learning. The exhibition was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs Mangal Pawar, Principal of Navjeevan Day College. Alongside the Chief Guest, the judges and members of the management were warmly welcomed, marking the beginning of an event filled with enthusiasm and scientific spirit. In her address, Mrs Pawar praised the school for creating a vibrant platform for scientific expression and appreciated the creativity and depth of understanding demonstrated by the students.
The first day of the exhibition, September 23, featured projects by students from Grades 3 to 6. The young participants showcased their understanding of basic scientific principles through colourful and interactive models. Topics included the solar system, water cycle, plant growth, simple machines, and waste segregation. The enthusiasm and confidence of the students impressed all attendees, including parents, teachers, and visitors. Their ability to explain their concepts clearly showed how well they had grasped the topics.
On September 24, the focus shifted to students from Grades 7 to 12. These senior students presented more advanced projects and working models covering themes such as robotics, artificial intelligence, climate change, renewable energy, and healthcare technology. Many of the exhibits were not only scientifically sound but also addressed real-world challenges. A few projects, noted for their originality and relevance, received special commendation from the Chief Guest. The students backed their displays with research, data, and strong communication, reflecting both their knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Throughout the event, Fr Rixson actively interacted with students, offering words of encouragement and acknowledging the hard work of both learners and faculty members. His support and vision were key to the success of the exhibition.
The exhibition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the most innovative and well-executed projects were recognized and awarded. The judges appreciated the students’ efforts and provided valuable feedback to help them further enhance their ideas.
The Science Exhibition served as a dynamic and inclusive platform for students across all grades to explore, innovate, and collaborate. It fostered scientific thinking, creativity, and teamwork. The dedication and mentorship of the school’s teaching staff were crucial in preparing students and organizing the event seamlessly.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Fr Rixson, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mrs Mangal Pawar for her presence and kind words, and to all those who contributed to making the exhibition a memorable and enriching experience.
