On October 11, 2025, the students of Class I at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, presented their Cultural Day programme on the theme “Harmony with Nature.” The celebration highlighted the creativity of children through songs, dances, and short skits carrying a message of environmental responsibility.
The event was held in the school auditorium in the presence of Rector, Fr Dr Barnabe D’Souza; Principal, Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri; Administrator, Fr Shekar Mariadas; Student Mentor, Fr Adolph Furtado; Catechist, Fr Allwyn Misquitta; Headmistress, Mrs Jyotsna D’Souza, supervisors, and parents.
The programme opened with a welcome song followed by a prayer offered by the students. In their introductory remarks, the young anchors underlined that every child of Class I would have an opportunity to perform.
A skit titled “Journey to Nature Land” formed the central part of the celebration. Children enacted the roles of the sun, tree, river, flower, wind, bird, and other characters of nature. Scenes portrayed the harmony of creation and the challenges caused by pollution, waste, and deforestation. A character representing Mother Earth appealed for help, and the performance concluded with a message of the “Three Rs” — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
The programme also included dances and songs reinforcing the theme. Students pledged to protect the environment by planting more trees, avoiding plastic, and adopting eco-friendly practices.
In his address, Fr Dr Barnabe D’Souza encouraged students and parents to remain committed to safeguarding the planet. Principal Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri appreciated the children’s enthusiasm and thanked teachers, staff, and parents for their support in preparing the event.
The students of Class I concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the encouragement of the management, the guidance of teachers, and the presence of parents.
The Class I Cultural Day 2025-26 provided an opportunity for every child to display talent on stage while spreading a clear and timely message of living in harmony with nature.
