Children’s Day was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm at Don Bosco High School, Yerwada, on November 14, 2025. The entire campus came alive with vibrant colours, cheerful laughter and boundless excitement as students and teachers united to honour the spirit of childhood.
The programme began with the solemn lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm and heartfelt welcome by Tr Nisha and Tr Violet, setting a cheerful tone for the celebration. A touching citation by Tr Jessie, Tr Deepti and Tr Rina beautifully highlighted the importance of every student, celebrating their energy, creativity, innocence and zest for life. Fr Michael Fernandes, the Parish Priest, delivered an inspiring message, reminding students to dream big, remain joyful and grow with purpose.
The entertainment segment showcased the deep affection and creativity of the teachers. The Pre-Primary, Secondary and Junior College teachers presented a graceful group dance filling the hall with colour and rhythm, while Tr Mangal captivated the audience with an elegant solo performance. A melodious musical number by Tr Lara and Sir Michael added warmth and harmony to the atmosphere.
The highlight of the morning was a thrilling magic show by Fr Glen, which kept the students wide-eyed with wonder and bursting with laughter. In a delightful surprise, he later joined the children in a lively action song, filling the hall with excitement as everyone clapped and sang along.
Adding to the festive spirit, the teachers performed a humorous skit and a vibrant dance that received thunderous applause from the delighted students. Cheerful jokes by Tr Rupali, a soulful solo by Tr Sukhadha and a short reflection by Tr Blossom on the significance of Children’s Day added charm and depth to the programme.
The formal function concluded with heartfelt words of gratitude from the student representatives Shams Mulla, Gloria D’souza and Anush Shelar who expressed their appreciation to the Management, teachers and staff for their thoughtful efforts. The celebration came to a joyful close with a delicious breakfast, followed by a lively jam session where students danced, sang and celebrated the joy of being children.
Upon asking some students they expressed their opinions saying,
Primary Section: “We loved to watch the teachers performing for us’’
Secondary Section: Class 8 student said, “It was so nice to see our teachers perform for us. Their dance and jokes made our day unforgettable.”
Junior College: “The programme made us feel valued and appreciated. It was a beautiful reminder of our growing journey" expressed a Junior College student.
The students were served delicious snacks and enjoyed dancing afterwards.
