Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad organized a Mini Job Fair 2025 aimed at addressing youth unemployment in the PCMC area. Invitations targeted young job seekers interested in manufacturing and housekeeping roles, with an added initiative of week-long training sessions to refresh and update candidates’ skills. The event reached out specifically to college and ITI students facing job challenges. Sixteen companies participated in the fair, conducting interviews with 73 applicants. Participating firms included industry names such as Dexterity Company, MG Company, Tata Motors, VN Management, BVG, QA Tech, Majestic Solution, Growus Auto, Hydraflex, Brainsitter, Growel, BU Bhandari, Butterfly Consultancy, Laxmi Motors, Big Bisan, and Blue Star.
Fr Jeffrey Fernandes inaugurated the fair by stressing the critical unemployment problem among youth and emphasized the need for enhancing soft skills to better prepare candidates for interviews. Fr Jeffrey Fernandes, a seasoned technician and former Principal of Don Bosco Kurla, shared his insights with the dignitaries during the event. His extensive knowledge and experience in the technical field provided valuable perspectives that helped attendees better understand the ground realities.
Fr Anton D'Souza, Director of DB Avsar, welcomed dignitaries and company representatives, announcing ongoing initiatives designed to improve job readiness and employment opportunities for local youth. Notable guests at the inauguration included Ms Lolita Mendonca, Province DB Avsar Coordinator, Mr Angelo Mascarenhas, Mr Nilesh Chandgude, Mr Cyril Crasto, and Mr Minin Lobo.
Feedback from the companies highlighted a common gap in soft skills among candidates, noting many appeared unprepared for interviews. In response, DB Avsar staff revealed plans to hold Mini Job Fairs regularly with selected companies and candidates, combined with focused soft skill training and skill-refreshing infrastructure to maximize benefit for both employers and job seekers.

DB Avsar Chinchwad shared its future activity plans with several companies to foster greater collaboration between the institute and industry partners. Though still in its early stages, the institute is steadily evolving into a key platform within the job network.
As part of the larger Don Bosco Network at the national level, DB Avsar Chinchwad leverages its strategic location in the PCMC industrial area, which presents vast employment opportunities for local youth. The institute is actively building partnerships with numerous companies to enhance job placement prospects for aspiring candidates.
